CDLA is pleased to announce that New Bridge Foundation is now a CDLA Sponsor!
The New Bridge Foundation, Inc., located in Berkeley, is a non-profit drug and alcohol treatment agency, established in 1968. We are ranked by Newsweek magazine as one of America’s “Best Addiction Treatment Centers”. NBF's expertise in working with criminal justice clients is based on over 55 years of practice. We understand that addiction is a disease and effective treatment must be client-centered and treat the whole person with collaborative care. Treatment plans are individualized, based upon assessed needs and client-centered goals.
We offer a structured program for chemically dependent adults. We have a full continuum of care including detoxification, long and short-term residential treatment, intensive outpatient services and free aftercare for life. NBF has extensive experience working with clients who have been referred through the criminal justice system and assists clients in meeting all of their legal obligations.
We utilize several evidence-based practices including: Motivational Interviewing; Cognitive Behavioral Therapy; Trauma-informed Services, and provide a weekly criminal justice group.
In addition to our expertise in working with individuals within the criminal justice system, NBF also specializes in working with adults who struggle with co-occurring conditions. Commonly referred to as a dual diagnosis, a co-occurring disorder is diagnosed when an individual has a co-existing mental illness in conjunction with a substance use disorder.
We developed this program 40 years ago due to the overwhelming need for specialized services for this population. Our co-occurring disorders services include psychological assessment, psychotropic medication management, licensed therapists, individual and group counseling, including specialized groups to assist in the stabilization of the client's functioning, educational counseling; anger management; co-occurring disorder group; family support and education; and discharge/transition care planning.
New Bridge Foundation is licensed and certified by the State of California Department of Health Care Services to provide Substance Use Disorder services, Detoxification services and Incidental Medical services in a 3.2 WM, 3.1 and 3.5 ASAM designated facility. We are accredited by the Commission for Accreditation of Rehabilitation.
