Bio: I have been a criminal defense lawyer in Southern California for over 20 years. I have spent my entire career defending people accused of crimes by the government. I have seen how heavily the deck is stacked against the defendant in a criminal case. The law presumes that the accused is innocent. Police officers and prosecutors do not. If you are charged in a criminal case, it is because prosecutors and the police have already made up their minds that you are guilty. The resources that they will amass to ensure your conviction may seem overwhelming. Having an experienced criminal defense attorney on your side is essential to protecting your rights and freedom.

Bio: I graduated from UC Santa Barbara in 1989 with a Bachelor's of Arts in Political Science. After working for a few years, I attended San Francisco Law School at night, graduating in May 1998. While attending law school, I interned at the Marin County District Attorney's Office from June 1996 to December 1996. I then interned at the San Francisco District Attorney's Office (SFDA) from January 1997 through November 1998. At SFDA, I was granted Certified Law Student status, which enabled me to argue cases in court under the supervision of a Deputy District Attorney. As such, I was able to gain several hundred hours of courtroom experience before passing the Bar Exam in November 1998. Upon admission to the Bar in December 1998, I worked as an unpaid Assistant District Attorney in San Francisco until May 1999, when I was hired to be a Deputy District Attorney in Butte County (BCDA). During my just over 5 years at BCDA, I tried over 60 cases to jury, including homicides. In July 2004, I went into private practice as a criminal defense attorney, where I remain to this day. Combining my time as a prosecutor and defense attorney, I have tried approximately 100 cases to jury.
