Bio: After graduating with a B.A. in Psychology from California State University, Los Angeles, Ann Gottesman graduated from Southwestern University School of Law in Los Angeles, with a Juris Doctor degree in 2005. She was then sworn in as a licensed California attorney. For the past 17 years, Ann's legal pursuits have been focused on the practice area of criminal law and DUI defense law. While in law school, Ann clerked for Justice Earl Johnson Jr., of the Second District Court of Appeal. She assisted Justice Johnson with the drafting of judicial opinions, one of which was published as a case of first impression. (People v. Russell (2005) 129 Cal.App.4th 776.)After working for a criminal appellate firm in Los Angeles, she joined the Law Office of the Public Defender in Riverside, CA, because she wanted to help ensure indigent defendants received a fair trial.Since 2009, Ann has worked as a sole practitioner in Pasadena, California, focusing solely on DUI defense and Criminal defense in Pasadena, handling all types of misdemeanor and felony cases. Bio: Lance Hafenstein received dual Bachelor of Arts degrees in History and Political Science from U.C. Berkeley in 1987. He received his law degree from U.C. Hastings in 1990. He worked in the Compton and Long Beach branches of the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office from 1990 to early 1997, and came to the Napa County District Attorney’s Office in 1997. After conducting well over 100 jury trials, he has handled every type of misdemeanor and felony criminal case, and brings a unique experience and insight to criminal defense. He has been the administrator of the Jefferson Law Center since 2021.
