Many defendants are convicted on the basis of pseudo-science introduced by an expert who is willing to testify to a standard or a scientific methodology that is either not shared by the general community or is not properly applied to the facts of the case. Expert testimony is particularly damaging to a defendant’s case and it is made even more damaging when the defendant fails to effectively cross examine the expert. The tide of a criminal trial can change dramatically when the State's expert witness is properly cross examined. 

In this one-hour webinar, CDLA Expert Ed Barley will address all of the key areas of an alcohol DUI: stop, FST, objective symptoms, PAS, chemical, etc. The cross examination of the government witness requires and understanding of science. The science used is often one sided and designed to convey to the jury your client’s guilt. Ed Barley is a former prosecution witness who has firsthand experience in the workings of a crime lab.
